CrossFit is for you! It’s Fun and more effective than any other workout program!
Most women go to the gym because they want to lose weight and look “toned”. They join Lucille Roberts or do Zumba, Pilates and cardio kickboxing. They don’t lift weights because they are scared of getting big muscles and looking bulky or like a man. You also want something that’s fun and you can do with your friends.
Unfortunately your fears are based on myth and the above programs aren’t very effective in improving your overall health!
To start off you won’t get bulky, it is very hard for women to get big muscles you just don’t produce enough testosterone. Secondly, in CrossFit we concentrate our efforts on getting stronger and healthier, not bigger. The workout and diet programs are very different.
CrossFit is a much more effective program for weight loss. The high Intensity nature of our workouts not only burn more calories during your workout but they will keep your body burning extra calories for hours after you finish. The fact that they are quick will also prevent unneeded stress on your system, which is common in long cardio sessions and can stunt weight loss or lead to weight gain.
Another reason women need to do CrossFit is Osteoporosis. It is a common condition that according to most estimates will affect about half of all women over 50. CrossFit will help prevent Osteoporosis, Zumba, Pilates and using machines wont. Why? Its simple, our bodies are smart. When we regularly pick up heavy things our bodies adapt to support this. Our bodies will build denser, stronger bones to support the weight. For younger women, start now and prevent this from ever being a problem.
